We got up on Saturday the 2nd of July and headed to Uncle Martin's. Mom and Dad drove the three older kids in our van and the rest of us took Kerry's car. It was nice to spend some time with my brother and sister and Wes and Jonathan. What should've taken us 4 hours ended up taking around 9 hours. There was some kind of oil spill on the interstate and we had to detour. Well since we knew how to work the gps we found some back roads unlike mom and dad who took the detour and moved about a mile every 20 minutes. Then we stopped and got something to eat. Maddie did very well again and we finally made it to the lake.
We usually go to Uncle Martin's every year, but this year we are celebrating his 60th birthday! Uncle Martin is very special to me. I was born on his birthday and ever since I can remember we have had this special bond. It's really nice to share a birthday with someone so special!! So, all of the family was there and we had a blast.
